Journey to the North is not only an adventurous experience for the whole family, but also a tribute to Nordic literature and culture. Based on H.C. Andersen's classic The Snow Queen and inspired by both Selma Lagerlöf and Zacharias Topelius, Bente Lohne has written a story that weaves together elements from all over the Nordic region into an exciting and engaging adventure.
The book version of the film is already available in Norwegian, Danish and Swedish languages published by Cappelen Damm, Norway's largest, leading publishing house.
Bente Lohne is a critically acclaimed writer/director well known for her 1980s fantasy series Julia's Journey. She is the screenwriter and director of the film adaptation of the book, an animated feature film titled NORTH - An Epic Journey of Friendship.
